After fdisk creating partitions try, dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/da0s1 count=16 Then disklabel -r -w and disklabel -B Tru64-UNIX has a disklabel -z option which zeros out the disk label. Compaq and Digital before that recommended disklabel -z prior to laying down a new label. Should we consider a -z option for our disklabel?
