I like a nice conspiracy theory, it makes the old paranoid juices 
flow ;-)

Capitalism tends towards monopolies, democracy fights against 
them ... or so the theory goes.

Someone correct me: in days of yore Unix in one or other of its 
forms had a virtual monopoly of web servers and now Microsoft is 
trying to undermine that monopoly.  That's what TCP/IP is for, isn't 
it, to facilitate communicaton between different operating systems?
