https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D229472 Bug ID: 229472 Summary: man echo misses -e option Product: Documentation Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Manual Pages Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: tz@freebsd.org CC: doc@FreeBSD.org Aloha, man echo does not document the "-e" option. This option will for example convert an "\n" into a real new line. Example:= =20 $ echo "muff\nmuff" muff\nmuff $ echo -e "muff\nmuff" muff muff This works for other control chars too. I stumbled across this by accident. Greetings, Torsten --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.=
