Hehe, what a range of topics we are covering in this chat. :) I agree that Buddhism is not really a religion, though I would not call it a philosophy either. It's much easier to say what Buddhism is not than what it is. :) I've met Buddhists who believe in God. In fact, in Pittsburgh (isn't that where you're headed?) I met a man who was professor of Catholic spirituality at Duquesne University, and a Tibetan Buddhist at the same time. Certainly an exception rather than a rule, but meeting him was fascinating.
