Something changed last night after midnight (when I went to bed). It wasn't my box as I left it on. I've sent email to the DNS engineer to see what changed. So far, no answer ... > /* -OT- > At my work place, my boss was linux 'fan' when I started as IT admin. > I setup corporate Firewall based on FreeBSD 4.3 - IPFW+NAT and > database server on FreeBSD 4.3 with MySQL, Apache and Samba... > for the last year we have in practice '0' (ZERO) downtime > - 99.99% Level of Service. Some folks here think that Linux is something cool and so new and fresh... I've been mucking around with Unix since '85 and i think FreeBSD (or the *BSD derivatives) are the best thing going. > It may be just a bug into build in FreeBSD 4.6 DHCP client. > Altough, I am not sure. > Why don't you try to install ISC DHCP from the ports > it is under ports/net/isc-dhcp3. It uses Solaris, and it figures! :-)) > > Thanks for all your help, > > No problem! It was pleasure to 'try' to help you ;-) You did help - look at all the experience I gained!! Now all I have to do is get the stupid Integrated sound card (Intel ICH-based (AC97?)) card to be recognized and set up X (integrated Intel 810 video card) on this Dell GX110* and I'm all set! Thanks again, Shawn * - Don't laugh!! It's all I have. I moved up from a P333 HP Kayak with only 32Meg/ram and a 2G HD to this "monster" - P866 with 128Meg/ram and a 20G HD. I'll take it!
