I use an USR 56K (external) VoiceFaxmodem, Sportster. Data: It is quite OK, it runs well (FreeBSD 3.4 stable) Fax: Poor. Class2.0 badly implemented. Hylafax installation with this modem is very cumbersome. And at least you cannot rely 100% on the modem. (Besides: Winfax (fax softw. for Windows) also advices to use Class1 for faxing with USR Sportster).
