The permissions are wrong. Set them right: # chmod 444 /usr/local/majordomo/aliases.majordomo # chown root.majordomo /usr/local/majordomo/aliases.majordomo I'm not sure whether the owner should be root or majordomo, but that's the way mine ended up, and it works.
