|
| can you still get into the kernel debugger?
| (have you got the kernel debugger in the kernel? (options KDB))

Ok, I've built in the debugger. How do I invoke it? I reproduced the
problem and it didn't hit the debugger, I perhaps the thing's stuck with
interrupts disabled??

|
| if you can get into the KDB that gives us something to work with..
| does it still ping?
| does <ALT><F8> still beep (assuming you haven't got a login on screen 8..

<ALT><F8> doesn't beep...

Unfortunately, the last time I hung it the root fs got trashed, so I've
spent some time rebuilding things...

Now I'm back up so I'll continue debugging...

BTW: It also hangs if I run xcd and play music on the cdrom. Within
30 seconds of starting, the system hangs, although the music is still
coming through the speakers!
