Yes the behaviour of getaddrinfo() is bug.
But as you already have noticed it, the fix is not simple, so
it will be tried after 4.0.

For 4.0, please also try '-4' option as another workaround.
When you specify '-4' option for IPv4/IPv6 dual support apps,
then it will only try to query A record.
