I have to disagree. The GPL does a very good job of guaranteeing *future
derivatives* will also be GPLd, but is no better or worse than the BSD
license to protect the original software. What does one want protection
against? As near as I can tell, it's against damage of some sort. But
how do you damage freely redistributable and infinitely reproducible
software?
