I can't agree with that.  CURRENT is supposed to change occasionally
radically.

CURRENT is CURRENT while it's CURRENT, not STABLE.  Too many things
are already radically different from STABLE.  Besides, we have more
than ten months before the 5.0-RELEASE.

I don't get it.  Please explain how the removal of the printf builtin
makes the transition more difficult, when all the system scripts have
been properly modified not to rely on it.
