What I meant to suggest is that you use the correct plugin from the linux jdk's directory. Now that I located a machine on which I have the linux jdk installed, here are the choices: /usr/local/linux-sun-jdk1.4.2/jre/plugin/i386/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/local/linux-sun-jdk1.4.2/jre/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so Did you try with both?
