I am using XFree86 4.4 binaries. Interesting, I don't get anything about microcode loading. My equivalent output is: pciconf -l -v|egrep agp\|drm ------------ agp0@pci0:0:0: class=0x060000 card=0x01621028 chip=0x25788086 rev=0x02 hdr=0x00 drm0@pci1:0:0: class=0x030000 card=0x7c13174b chip=0x59611002 rev=0x01 hdr=0x00 ------------ dmesg |grep drm ----------- drm0: <ATI Radeon RV280 9200> port 0xde00-0xdeff mem 0xfe9e0000-0xfe9effff,0xf0000000-0xf7ffffff irq 11 at device 0.0 on pci1 info: [drm] AGP at 0xe0000000 128MB info: [drm] Initialized radeon 1.10.0 20020828 on minor 0 ------------ This is on 5.2.1-RELEASE-p1, maybe going to HEAD would help. I'd imagine you'd want the whole src/sys/dev/drm directory, and not just the radeon* files. Although reading through the source of what I have now it's not obvious why the microcode loading doesn't apply to my card already. Barry
