I updated yesterday, hoping to get it working, but (unsurprisingly), it's still not showing up. : I'm begining to think my hardware is stuffed. It shows up in the BIOS and I : can boot from it, plus I only bought it with in a couple of months ago. I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. I don't think Soren has merged the SATA burner code in to the tree: <http://www.freebsd.org/news/status/report-jan-2006-mar-2006.html#Status-Report-ATA-project> It makes sense that it would be in the BIOS, and that you can boot from it. But if the FreeBSD kernel doesn't know about SATA CD-ROM drives, it won't find it.
