Right. In an earlier message you mentioned mutt and procmail, so here is a procmail/mutt solution. First off write a procmail recipe that matches the mail list(s) you wish to "flag". In the action line of said recipe use formail to add the header X-Status. Configure mutt to "high light" message which contain the X-Status header. If you want me to give you a step-by-step it will have to wait until tomorrow because it is time for me to hit the sack. If you can't wait that long look in the archives for the procmail users' mailing about 6 or so years ago - may be even longer: flagging is what this is called. Oh, just remembered, the above assumes you are using mbox format. If you are using maildir there is a solution, but the action is different.
