I can understand how a wired alternative is not optimal. I don't own
any bluetooth audio devices myself and have only been fiddling to get
my mouse working, but as far is I know, the bluetooth audio support is
in no better condition than the one for mice/keyboards.

A quick search led me to a forum post[1] where a dongle acting as the
bluetooth host allows the bluetooth audio device to connect and then
converts it to a USB sound card. If you're looking for a solution in
the near future that doesn't require a wire, this could potentially be
an acceptable workaround.
