I would be willing to believe this is generally true,  Were they close enough
that a PII-300 would overcome the PPro?  The PII will continue to get faster,
the PPro is probably frozen @ 200mHz.

ps.  I'm not saying one or the other is necessarily the way to go at this point
in time, there just is not enough info to take a stand yet!  I'm just "devil's 
advocating" a little...
