Okay, then that makes me *really* nervous...does the following sound safe?
cd /usr/src
make aout-to-elf-build
cd /usr/src/usr.sbin/config && make install
cd /usr/src/sys/i386/conf
config -r MyKernel
cd ../../compile/MyKernel
make depend && make
<install new kernel>
reboot
cd /usr/src
make aout-to-elf-install
I'm still running a 3.0-CURRENT machine as of July 24th or so...its a
production machine, and its half a country away, so I'm very nervous...
