Well, the port is underway, although very preliminary at the moment. The two people who seem to be in charge of most of the PPC code at moment are Benno Rice (benno@freebsd.org) and John Baldwin (jhb@freebsd.org). For the time being, this list is the best source of information about the port, although lately it seems to be just "when will FreeBSD/ppc be ready" questions. In any event, if you want to help with the project, contact those two. If you want to know when it'll be ready, just keep watching this list.
