no - when booting the installation CD it asks if you want to modify
any of the kernel settings.  Select this option and then go into the
network settings for ed0 and change it to whatever IRQ your card is
using.  Then save settings and they will be reused next time the
system is booted.

This is explained in detail in the installation section in the handbook.
