I have almost the same board as him. personally I've had more problems then I can count with this board (especially compared to tyan which I run bsd on now and kicks ass). mind is a P2B-DS. only difference between his and mine is mine is dual processor and has onboard Adaptec 7890 SCSI. I have all 4 dim slots full. -----Original Message----- From: owner-freebsd-stable@FreeBSD.ORG [mailto:owner-freebsd-stable@FreeBSD.ORG]On Behalf Of Kent Stewart Sent: Thursday, February 28, 2002 4:27 PM To: Loren James Rittle Cc: melange@yip.org; freebsd-stable@FreeBSD.ORG Subject: Re: 4.4-STABLE (built 10/25) -> 4.5-STABLE (built and rebuilt during last week) Loren James Rittle wrote: >>If you're going from having 1 dimm to 2, check your BIOS to see if >>there's a setting called something like "Speculative Read", and if it's >>turned on, turn it off. There were some Tyan boards that permitted 4 dimms and 3 was all that was allowed by the spec. You may be seeing that problem.
