Hello,

I would like to know what's exactly the difference between openssh-portable
and openssh ports.

I don't like the banner that default sshd has, and I don't like to stick
with older versions (2.9 or 2.3) even if they are patched. So, I overwrite
base install with openssh-portable on a regular basis, but I cannot find the
sense of the other "non-portable" port. (BTW... I mean... if one is
"portable", that means the other one isn't, right? ;-) ). Please don't take
the last affirmation seriously... it's just a nonsense to stress that 2
ports for the same goal are rather confusing.

Besides this, are there any reasons to stick with the default OpenSSH
version included on FreeBSD source tree instead of building the port?
(considering a syncronized source tree, following the respective RELENG_4_x
branch, RELENG_4_5 in this case).

Best Regards.
