No magic bullets for you, but have you tried setting up a simpler environment to narrow down the suspects? Try moving /usr/local aside, then add the following to /etc/make.conf: CFLAGS+= -g DEBUG_FLAGS+= -g WITH_DEBUG= YES Then compile a really basic window manager like openbox or windowmaker. Then try adding firefox 3.6 and see how that goes.
