They're very x86-specific, but then, so was FreeBSD for the longest = time. Given the recent advances including a flash-based filesystems for = FreeBSD, and being able to co-opt the cross-compiler chain from linux = where clang does not yet support cross compilation (e.g. mips) has = brought FreeBSD to a point where (finally) the issues around embedded = finally are illuminated. tl;dr: This has been anticipated for a long time.
