I was finally able to repoduce this problem on my testserver. The problem is related to nss_ldap or pam_ldap used in the user authentication. The openldap-client, nss_ldap and pam_ldap are linked against the ports openssl lib. vi crashed when I tried to change a file. First change and vi crashes. if i remove ldap from /etc/nsswitch.conf and vi is running just fine. there is definitely a issue with openssl 1.0.2 somewhere Regards Estartu
