This one actually is not a real issue, but it's more clean now. Ok now do that: 1- patch your Acer_Aspire_1644WLMi.asl, 2- invoke iasl Acer_Aspire_1644WLMi.asl That will create a DSDT.aml file. 3- copy this DSDT.aml to /boot 4- add those lines to your /boot/loader.conf: acpi_dsdt_load="YES" acpi_dsdt_name="/boot/DSDT.aml" reboot, and now you should be able to see the battery via sysctl hw.acpi Also look at 11.16.5.3 "Overriding the Default AML" in the handbook for more details about this procedure: http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/acpi-debug.html Cheers, -- Bruno Ducrot -- Which is worse: ignorance or apathy? -- Don't know. Don't care.
