It looks like others have run into this problem with avahi-app as well: http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-ports/2011-July/068658.html A cursory search shows that uninstalling avahi-app then reinstalling should take care of the compilation failure. Afterward you should be able to run portmaster as shown in the error message (minus 'net/avahi-app') to finish recompiling the ports that depend on pcre.
