Thank you very much for the detailed response!  I tried this new method,
and it does indeed work much faster!

The delete updates do indeed blaze by compared to when its in synch mode.
Do you personally run expirerm in async mode ?  What about the over.view
tree.. I have it on a separate drive... It too would benefit during
expireover no ? Or am I playing with fire on that drive....
