In snd_emu10kx(4) there is ".Em not" to emphasize the "not". Apparently the script which puts the manpage text into the hardware notes needs to be taught to deal with this. Anyway, since the release is essentially done now and the release documentation is frozen, a note about this should go into the release errata section. I'll work with the release engineering team to do this.
