I am installing FreeBSD-4.0 on my Compaq Proliant Server. It has 3 =
4.3-GB WIDE ULTRA SCSI Discs mounted on a disk array.
FreeBSD-2.2.6 never detected any disks. Release 4.0 detects them but =
after copying the files this error keeps appearing.

Remaking all devices; then
MAKEDEV returned a non-zero status ; then
Some errors occured setup not completed successfully.

But sometime the files are copied correctly but when booting the system =
complains that there is
no bootable kernel.

What can be the cause of this problem.

Previously there was Windows NT running on this server but I want to =
kick it out for good. Could it be
that NT did something fishy to my disk.

Help please,
Ganizani.
