I'll give a look at the orm device tomorrow when I have access to the system. I'm assuming "dmesg | grep orm" should be suffice? In the short term, are there any patches hiding in http://people.freebsd.org/~imp/ that may be able to be patched against a stock FreeBSD 4.6 kernel that may help with this problem? I know the systems work as we use Linux on them which have no pcmcia problems with them. (uses memory rages 0xa0000000-0xa0ffffff) You're a great help!
