I had to reboot while Xwindows was running. Now I can't restart X because I get a message that Xwindows has not shut down. How do I shut it down? I checked the man pages for startx, X and xdm, but all I could find related to shutting it down was to create a "magic app" in my startup file. Does X lock a file or something to say that it's running? Thanks in advance. To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
