I would guess that it means you have pathnames on your system that are longer than the (max allowed) of 1024. i.e. "/usr/foo/...1020chars.../bar/baz" If that's the case then you can solve it by moving the offending files to a not-so-nested directory. Or you could try to increase the value of MAXPATHLEN, but I'm not sure where that's defined or what would break if it changed.
