Subject: Re: ssh to remote machines problem after cvsup

Hi,
since I have upgraded a box from 4.3 to 4.6 and since then can't ssh into
it.
ssh out from it is fine.
sshd is running.

It appears that PAM is now installed, but that could my misinterpretation
I have tried to see how to uninstall pam, but couldn't find it easily.

Errors on console when trying to log into the box are as follows.

date time mail login no modules loaded for 'login' service
date time mail login pam_open_session: Permission denied
date time mail sshd[143]: no modules loaded for sshd service
date time mail sshd[143]: fatal: PAM session setup failed[6]: Permission
denied

where mail happens to be name of computer.

I have tried booting with the old kernel, restoring from backup the etc
directory heirachy.

apologies if this should be directed to another mailling list.
