Just edit /usr/ports/x11/gnome2/Makefile and remove the following lines
at the end of the file:-

Joe, can you remove this? Very few people would use this for various
reasons (no video hardware, slow modem, etc). I think gnome-fifth-toe is
more suitable for this. IMHO anyway.
