they are in already.. happenned the next day..

short reads from variable blocksize devices were broken..
e.g.
dd if=/dev/rst0 bs=10k of=/tmp/xx
when you had an 80 byte record at the beginning of the tape
(standard IBM label) would give an error instead of returning the 80
byte record....
