As Joerg suggested, I byte swapped the entire atapi probe tb buffer, and things look promising. It's raised a few questions too. Also, I've not yet byte swapped the *other* buffers coming back from the drive. One question: Is it likely that I will have to byte swap the buffers headed out to the drive? Will the user data buffers need to be swapped too, or just things like the command/response buffers? Any help here would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, jdl
