On second reading of this I have another comment.  The reason that
the Ethernet_II entry shows a LAN address (didn't you really mean
an IP address?) is that TCP/IP can only be encapsulated as an
Ethernet_II packet.

The other encapsulations use the raw ethernet address associated with
the card for addressing nodes.
