However, linuxls with colors actually work quite nicely - it defaults to no colors (yeah!), and has a '--color=tty' option that will only do color sequences if you actually use a tty, making it work without problems in a pipe. I think having that as part of our ls would be good for 'sales' - but it isn't so important I'm going to take the effort of arguing for it (but maybe I'll implement it if there suddenly seems to be a consensus shouting for it :) Eivind.
