When I start getting bounced messages from various lists, I try to remove the user in question pretty quickly. It's no use trying to mail them if their mail is bouncing. It is often the case that people will subscribe to mailing lists, and then let their account lapse/go away/expire without first unsubscribing to all the lists they're on. Personally, whenever I see bounced mail, I almost always delete the person in question from every list I control, unless I know the person's circumstances. (i.e. temporary system problem is causing bounced mail, etc.) My guess is that you've been removed because mail to you was bouncing for some reason... If that's the case, it's not surprising at all that you weren't notified. I would just ask jmb(@FreeBSD.ORG) why you've been removed from the lists. He's the postmaster, and he may remember why he removed you.
