I was trying to compile the UMich LDAP package after converting to ELF and I got this message: gcc -o ltest test.o -L. -L../liblber -lldap -llber ./libldap.a(os-ip.o): In function `connect_to_host': os-ip.o(.text+0x5a): undefined reference to `inet_addr' os-ip.o(.text+0x185): undefined reference to `inet_ntoa' os-ip.o(.text+0x1d5): undefined reference to `inet_ntoa' *** Error code 1 Which is totally bizarre to me, considering that the inet_* functions live in libc. When I use `gcc -aout' everything works fine. I'm at a loss as to why this is happening, perhaps someone can shed some light? -- Brian Cully <shmit@rcn.com> ``And when one of our comrades was taken prisoner, blindfolded, hung upside-down, shot, and burned, we thought to ourselves, `These are the best experiences of our lives''' -Pathology (Joe Frank, Somewhere Out There) To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-current" in the body of the message
