Since your * stuff is sort of weirdly "cross branch" here, what's the canonical way * of dealing with architecture specific changes in the ports collection? As a generic answer: you can put stuff in "patches.alpha" etc. if the differences are major. These replace the generic "patches" etc. See bsd.port.mk for which subdirectories are supported. You can also create a "Makefile.alpha", which is included only for alphas for instance. It's probably easier to #ifdef the sources in most cases, though. Satoshi
