Luoqi found a bug in the compiler's optimizer. I presume someone
has/will commit a change to libalias to work around it, and hopefully
Luoqi notified the EGCS people. This sort of optimizer bug is usually
fairly easy to fix given demonstration code, and Luoqi presented
demonstration code.
