"unknown" is only for data calls for which no config matches. For phone calls I get the number (if caller is isdn, & also from certain non ISDN calls from Britain to Germany), else "NotAvailable". With file isdntel.alias (ref man isdnd), I get Real Name of caller, else number if unmatched, else "NotAvailable" if non isdn. (Also, As I recall isdnd still shows phone caller name even if other B channel is busy with a data call.) I leave an xterm running tail -f /var/log/isdnd.log, here's an example: ------- 13.12.1999 16:07:26 CHD 00008 Call from "TH Mike Wege" to "TH Julian Stacey" 13.12.1999 19:07:42 CHD 00009 Call from "TH Ernst Winter" to "TH Julian Stacey" 13.12.1999 20:24:41 CHD 00010 Call from NotAvailable to "TH Julian Stacey" 13.12.1999 20:35:42 CHD 00011 Call from "TH Ernst Winter" to "TH Julian Stacey" 13.12.1999 21:12:51 CHD 00012 Call from "TH Gary Jennejohn" to "TH Julian Stacey" ---------- FYI I'm running isdnd -b -f -l 00.70.0 on FreeBSD-Release-3.3, with Here's an example of isdntel.alias: 268616 "TH Julian Stacey" 89268616 "TH Julian Stacey" 2608126 "FH Julian Stacey" 892608126 "FH Julian Stacey" 26023276 "IH Julian Stacey" 8926023276 "IH Julian Stacey" (that's my 3 MSNs, double entries as sometimes I get passed a number without the exchange code, & sometimes with), the [TFI][HWM] is just my personal note for Telephone/Fax/Isdn, Home/Work/Mobile PS I've heard some countries allow an ID Suppressed By Caller facility, it'd be cute if i4b could display a "Suppressed By Caller" rather than the usual "NotAvailable" for such cases, or maybe it does already ?
