I have to say that I spend more time looking at the screen than actually 
admiring the system as a work of art, so that hasn't really fazed me.

If style is an issue, get a Vaio or some other pepsi-inspired product.  
If, OTOH, you want a system to work on, the i7500 will probably meet your 
needs. 8)
