These | servers are going to be housed in 2u rack mount cases. Since I have | never had the luxury or the funding to accomplish this in the past I | never looked at the hardware. Now I am looking and I feel totally | unprepared on what is the best and best supported motherbaord to chose | to put these into service with FreeBSD. We just got a bunch of 1U machines from Arista, here is our spec: Celeron 500Mhz 64MB ECC memory PC100 BX chipset Intel 82559 on board VGA 13.5G Hard Drive 1.4M Floppy CDROM DLink 4 port ethernet card USB/Serial/Parallel/Keyboard/Mouse ports. http://www.aristaipc.com/ Their SBC also support the new PIII and they also have a new dual CPU SBC board as well. So if you don't need another slot this is an nice box. It's nice having 8 machines in 8U that could run any OS (that's why we spec'ed a disk drive, CDROM and floppy. Doug A.
