Hmm... I think you guys are missing my point. My point is that when
you throw a machine into a rack, DNS isn't likely to be configured
properly. Configuring the forward and reverse DNS, and hostname,
so everything matches is an automateable but somewhat involved procedure.
Enabling sendmail at that point (after DNS has been configured),
rather then enabling when the machine is first thrown into the rack,
is more appropriate.
I'm sure someone is going to spew some gobbly-gook about preconfiguring
DNS and hostnames for N rack slots beforehand, and my response to that
will simply be: that isn't my experience with configuring a new
machine. The new machine goes in first, usually.
