How about this:
if ( $?tcsh ) then
bindkey "^W" backward-delete-word
bindkey -k up history-search-backward
bindkey -k down history-search-forward
endif
For personal use I also do (for tcsh):
set prompt = "%m:%/%# "
But the Amiga-style integrated history search is the feature I use the
most. Having a multi-thousand line history actually becomes useful.
