Sorry, but, if the above doesn't help you, you really do have to give excruciating details, if you want any help. Without excruciating details, it's extremely difficult to help via email. It's analogous to having your car break down, and then sending a *letter* to your mechanic, saying: "Help! My car doesn't work." Please realize that it's very difficult to help under these circumstances. That said, the output of wicontrol would be useful, as well as every setting that the linksys access point reports or allows you to change. Other comments: * Have you tried upgrading the firmware in the access point (if this is even possible)? * You did explicitly set the (FreeBSD) laptop's wi0 network name to be the same as that used by the linksys, right? Note that I'm talking about the network name, and not the access point name. [ If, for some strange reason, the linksys doesn't support changing the network name, and doesn't tell you what it is, have you tried using the WaveLan WaveManager software under Windows to see what network name the access point is using? ] -- Darryl Okahata darrylo@soco.agilent.com DISCLAIMER: this message is the author's personal opinion and does not constitute the support, opinion, or policy of Agilent Technologies, or of the little green men that have been following him all day.
