I recall from my experiments that version 1.10 is buggy, and could
not get sector offsets correctly. What does work for me is 1.9
under 4.3-RELEASE (as well as 4.1-RELEASE):

  bookpc# uname -a
  FreeBSD bookpc 4.3-RELEASE FreeBSD 4.3-RELEASE #2: Wed Jun 13
  14:26:38 GMT 2001 reichert@bookpc:/usr/src/sys/compile/BOOKPC
  i386

I could rip a fourteen-minute song in two minutes:

  bookpc# /usr/bin/time /usr/local/bin/cdda2wav -D /dev/cdrom -A \
          /dev/cdrom -I cooked_ioctl -x -O wav -F -P 0 -t 14
266240 bytes buffer memory requested, 4 buffers, 27 sectors
#Cdda2wav version 1.9_freebsd_4.2-beta_i386_i386 real time sched.
